Examples of how to find the actual annual global temperature for any calendar year from 1900 to 1997 in relation to “Anomaly Time Series (Land, SST, and Index)”.

Example 1. Global land surface temperatures. As per column 2, the calendar year 1917 has the lowest annual global temperature anomaly of -0.71°C, and the calendar year 1990 has the highest annual global temperature anomaly of 0.56°C, such that the annual global temperature of 1917 is 0.71°C below, and the annual global temperature of 1990 is 0.56°C above, the 1961 to 1990 average global temperature of 14.1°C, such that the actual annual global temperatures of 1917 and 1990 are 13.39°C and 14.66°C respectively.

Example 2. Global ocean & sea surface temperatures. As per column 3, the calendar year 1903 has the lowest annual global temperature anomaly of -0.46°C, and the calendar year 1997 has the highest annual global temperature anomaly of 0.41°C, such that the annual global temperature of 1903 is 0.46°C below, and the annual global temperature of 1997 is 0.41°C above, the 1961 to 1990 average global temperature of 17.5°C, such that the actual annual global temperatures of 1903 and 1997 are 17.04°C and 17.91°C respectively.

Example 3. Global land surface temperatures and global sea surface temperatures amalgamated into the “Index” of global surface temperatures for land and sea combined. As per column 4, the calendar year 1907 has the lowest annual global temperature anomaly of -0.50°C, and the calendar year 1997 has the highest annual global temperature anomaly of 0.42°C, such that the annual global global temperature of 1907 is 0.50°C below, and the annual global temperature of 1997 is 0.42°C above, the 1961 to 1990 average global temperature of 16.50°C, such that the actual annual global temperatures for 1907 and 1997 are 16°C and 16.92°C respectively.
